How to enable logging in Android TV apps
Enabling log collection on the Android TV apps helps diagnose technical issues by capturing relevant data. This article outlines the steps to enable logging, ensuring that support teams can analyze and resolve issues efficiently.
To enable logging:
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select Help.
- Select Diagnostics. You will now see the following Diagnostics screen.
- While on this screen, on your remote, press OK/Enter 5 times in quick succession to reveal a Start logging button.
- Select Start logging (the status will change to ‘Stop logging’ - do not select it again).
- Tap back to exit the Settings screen.
- Now, please reproduce the issue you're experiencing (playing a video, opening a collection, for example).
- Once the issue has occurred, navigate to the Diagnostics screen in Settings.
- Select Stop logging.
Once this is completed, please send an email to our support team with a screenshot of your diagnostics screen to inform us that you have completed sending logs.
This will enable us to further investigate your specific issue as efficiently as possible.
